Teaneck’s Chris Jones Remains Open

HACKENSACK, N.J. — Teaneck (N.J.) senior shooting guard Chris Jones is picking up momentum with his recruitment.

Following his team’s 65-63 victory over St. Patrick Sunday in the New Year’s Jump Off, the 6-foot-5 Jones said he’s hearing from Boston University, Rhode Island, Siena, La Salle and Hofstra.

BU head coach Joe Jones and assistant Carmen Maciariello were in attendance, as were assistants from Siena and Hofstra.

Jones said he has no favorite right now and plans to take visits in the spring.

“I think I can be a good player at the college level,” he said after putting up 22 points, 10 rebounds and 6 steals against the Celtics. “Just a guy who can come in and score points and do the little things.”

As for the win over St. Patrick, the first in program history for undefeated Teaneck, Jones feels it was an impressive accomplishment.

“St. Pat’s is such a legendary program so it felt good to get that “W,'” Jones said.
