Amile Jefferson Down to Five

Amile Jefferson is down to five schools, according to a report in The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The 6-foot-7 Jefferson told the paper he’s considering N.C. State, Villanova, Ohio State, Kentucky, and Temple. Stanford is out and Temple is a long shot.

Villanova coach Jay Wright and an N.C. State assistant watched Jefferson Friday night when his Philly Friends Central team beat Neshaminy in the Jameer Nelson Classic

Multiple sources close to the recruitment told SNY.tv that Kentucky is in good position now, yet N.C. State is also a possibility.

“I think they have a great program going there,” Jefferson told FiveStarBasketball.com of N.C. State. “Coach [Mark] Gottfried and his assistants are great. Then being able to get those players there and recruit … They definitely have a future. That’s a school on the rise and having those guys [T.J. Warren, Rodney Purvis and Tyler Lewis] really means something.”

Villanova and Temple are the local schools who have long coveted Jefferson.
