Alex Kline to Syracuse

Alex Kline spends much of his time reporting on where other teenagers will attend college.

But this time around, it is Kline himself who has breaking news to announce.

The 17-year-old recruiting guru who was recently featured in Sports Illustrated and serves as a contributor to ZAGSBLOG has chosen his college.

“Next year, I will be attending Syracuse University,” Kline, a senior at The Pennington (N.J.) School, told SNY.tv.

“At Syracuse, I will be studying communications at one of the top programs in the country, the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. I will major in Public Relations (and may switch after a year or two) with hopes of completing a minor in Sports Management at the Whitman School of Management, as well.

“I chose Syracuse University because it was the perfect fit for me academically and socially. The campus is an ideal size and the distance from home is perfect. The opportunities, faculty, potential internships, students and Newhouse, itself, were all focal points in my decision. With an education and degree from Syracuse University the sky is the limit for me.

“Although it is tempting to get involved with Syracuse University’s basketball program, I will have no involvement with the team whatsoever. There will be no favoritism or affiliation with the squad and I will continue to work at The Recruit Scoop as a recruiting analyst.

“I chose Syracuse University over some great programs in Villanova, Rutgers, Hofstra, Xavier, Temple and UConn.”
