Melo Backs Garden Faithful in Humphries Chants

NEW YORK –– Knicks fans gave Kris Humphries more love than Kim Kardashian.

And Carmelo Anthony feels they did the right thing.

The Madison Square Garden faithful sarcastically chanted “We Want Humphries” at various times during the Knicks’ 88-82 exhibition win Wednesday at MSG .

They also booed the ex-Mr. Kardashian when he entered the game.

“I like it, to be honest with you,” Anthony said. “That’s how it should be. Our fans shouldn’t be cheering for nobody else, and that’s the way it should be.”

He added: “When I envision the Garden, when I envision New York fans, they shouldn’t be cheering for nobody in this arena.

“It’s all about the Knicks, and that’s how it should be.”

Humphries, who was married to Kardashian for all of 72 days and recently signed a one-year deal worth a reported $8 million, better get used to it.

He will probably hear jeers and taunts all season long.

“It’s New York,” Humphries said, according to Stefan Bondy of the Daily News.

“He’s thick-skinned,” Nets guard Deron Williams said. “He should be fine. We’re here to give him some man hugs if he needs them.”
