Knicks Officially Sign Bibby, Jeffries, Jorts & Shumpert

The Knicks on Sunday officially signed Mike Bibby, Jared Jeffries, Josh “Jorts” Harrellson and Iman Shumpert, bringing the roster to 11 players.

Those developments follow Saturday’s official announcement that 7-foot-1 center Tyson Chandler had joined the team in a sign-and trade.

Bibby could replaceĀ Chauncey Billups, who the Knicks amnestied so they could afford Chandler’s four-year, $56 million contract. Bibby has averaged 15.2 points in 13 NBA seasons but struggled last season for theĀ Miami Heat, managing only 3.6 points per game in 20 postseason starts.

Shumpert, the No. 17 pick from Georgia Tech, is also an option at the point.

New York is also interested in J.J. Barea, although a source close to Barea said the Lakers were also interested in the wake of the Chris Paul deal collapsing.

Jeffries is a favorite of coach Mike D’Antoni because of his ability to defend multiple positions.
