Seton Hall in Mix for Israeli Point Guard

Seton Hall is among the schools in the mix for Israeli point guard Tom Maayan, currently at the Canarias Basketball Academy.

The 6-foot, 175-pound Maayan is considering the Pirates along with Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Virginia and Virginia Tech, a source with direct knowledge told SNY.tv.

“He’s a quick, athletic lefty point,” the source said.

“A pass-first point guard. Defensively, a hard-nosed, on-ball defender. He’s already qualified.

Seton Hall, which will need a point guard in 2012 to succeed senior Jordan Theodore, currently has three players on its roster from the CBA.
