Arizona suspended freshman forward Sidiki Johnson of The Bronx for an unspecified violation of team rules, and it remains unclear when, or if, he will return to the team.
The team announced the “indefinite” suspension in a statement but there was no comment from head coach Sean Miller.
Bernard Bowen, Johnson’s mentor, did not immediately respond to a text.
The 6-foot-8, 235-pound Johnson is averaging 0.3 points and 0.7 rebounds in three games this season.
He was previously held out of Arizona’s game against Mississippi State Nov. 18, but that was not called a suspension.
Johnson attended four high schools, and finished up at Wadleigh High School in Harlem last year after he and current Kansas freshman Ben McLemore were dismissed from Oak Hill Academy.

Sure, Miller is outworking Self on the recruiting trail, but how in the world did he get this fckup cleared when he apparently had more issues than BMac in the classroom(s).

Rumor is that Miller is doing his best to force Sidiki out because they need the scholarship. I’d love to get Rain Man Jessie’s opinion on this.
If true and Miller succeeds, I wouldn’t be shocked to see him land at Seton Hall or St. John’s, or maybe an A-10 school.

Sidiki has smelled like a transfer to me since day one. He committed like three years ago when miller first arrived and his game hasn’t seemed to improve. Wouldn’t be surprised if he transfers but I know miller isn’t forcing him out 4 a schoolership. At the end of the day tho he won’t be seeing any pt at zona if he stays so it seems like the obvious choice.
Jonhusky what is so funny about 2013 comment to you?
I realize we have no real shot at NC this year but am only stating next year and beyond they will be contenders. I mean I didn’t say 2015 , 2013 is next seasOn.

Don’t blame this one on Miller. From what I’m hearing, Sidiki has been a headcase and hasn’t bought in from day one. That’s not gonna fly in Miller’s program but SJ has been given every opportunity to succeed.
This is DEFINITELY NOT the staff trying to free up scholarships. UA is awfully thin up front and could really use Sidiki’s big body this season, even if its just for giving fouls. Turner was kinda in the same boat a couple of weeks ago – was Miller trying to push him out too?
