Kansas Gets Its Big in Lucas

After striking out on Kaleb Tarczewski, Kansas has landed its big man in Landen Lucas, a 6-foot-10, 240-pound power forward from Westview High School in Oregon,.

“I will be attending the University of Kansas next year for basketball,” he told Alex Kline of The Recruit Scoop.

Lucas also considered Washington, California, Tennessee and Stanford.

“He’s a skilled player, very good hands,” New York recruiting expert Tom Konchalski said. “Has to get a little more physical.

“He has very good hands and is very skilled. He has to tone his body a bit. More than anything, his feet have to get a little quicker.

“He’s certainly not a three man, but he can shoot from the elbow in.

He joins 6-8 Perry Ellis and 6-9 Zach Peters in Kansas’ 2012 class.

Kansas comes to New York Tuesday to face Kentucky in the Champions Cup at Madison Square Garden.

  • LOl. Great pickup I’m sure Danny will have him in the league in no time.

  • Lol is right, John Carroll laughing all the way to the bank to cash Miller’s check.

  • Dumbest thing I ever heard , miller doesn’t pay like some coaches whose names rhyme with shelf and calamari, him and his staff just outwork them.

  • Why would Miller pay for a also ran when he got the winner in Tark, kung that comment put you in the category of jessiewildcat. You sir have failed.

  • Islandcat, do you speak English?

  • the ua obsession with anything ku is old. atleast jessie jessie’s ua rants are entertaining. for all ua fans and their thirst for everything ku, try kusports and the shiver. that should quench it for you.

  • KU is garbage, whole country realizes that starting next year Kansas is in a nosedive. Good luck with all those three stars and coach em up Danny. Lol what a joke of a recruiting last two years. Pathetic. I can see a half full Allen field house halfway through next year.

  • is a team with the 2nd most wins ever garbage or consistant? in order to accumulate that many wins speaks for it self. the program was built up with not having blue chip recruits year in and year out and maitains itself. apparently from your simple minded way of thinking, all of the teams each year that don’t have a top 5 recruiting class should pack it in and are headed for a “nosedive.”

  • You aren’t worried about your team next couple years mikemiller?
You talk about not getting bluechip recruits but that is bs KU has always gotten bluechip recruits. The list is long so what are you talking about?
