Hofstra’s Williams Lifts Boros in Metro Classic

Hoftra-bound guard Chaz Williams of Bishop Ford poured in 34 points to lift the Boros to a 124-120 OT victory over the Burbs in Sunday’s Metro Classic on Long Island.

Read the game story from my man Theo Rabinowitz of NYHoops.com. You can also catch the game here courtesy of Sports Webcasting Network.

J.J. Moore, a forward from Brentwood, paced the Burbs with 26 points.

Rice senior guard Durand Scott tallied 22 points before exiting with a sprained ankle.

Numerous people have reached out to me for an update on Scott’s weekend official visit to Miami, and to those folks I say…I”m working on it.

Scott has visited UConn, PItt and Miami. He also has UCLA and Tennessee on his final list of five, but skipped those visits to compete in is8.

“He is going to Miami and we’ll see what happens after the visit,” Dwayne Mitchell, Scott’s coach with the Gauchos AAU program, said before the trip.

Lance Stephenson, the marquee player for the Boros, did not show up for the game.
