“I just feel that it’s the perfect spot to play the perfect style that fits my game,” Gomez, 20, told SNY.tv by phone.
“I have a lot of family out there, too, on the East Coast. It’s the best thing for me.”
Gomez, originally from Englewood, Calif., also held an offer from Utah State. He spent a semester at New Mexico State, but got a medical release because of an eye injury and has been at Antelope for a year.
A first team All-Foothill Conference player last season, Gomez averaged 9.1 points and led the team in assists (127).
“I’m a great passer,” he said. “My goal is just to lead the nation in assists and just knock down open shots.”
