Ricky Ledo to Providence (Again)

Ricky Ledo has committed to Providence.

Again.

After committing last Christmas Eve and then decommitting, the 6-foot-7 Notre Dame Prep wing called Providence coach Ed Cooley Monday to announce his pledge.

“I grew up in Providence and it feels like the perfect fit,” he told ESPN.com. “I trust coach Cooley. He’s one of the reasons that Providence can get back on top.”

Multiple sources said Ledo, a Providence native, could indeed land at Providence later this year.

“He’s got a chance to be here second semester this year,” one source said.

“I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet (this year) but we’ll talk to my family and see what we can do,” Ledo told ESPN.com

Ledo nearly pulled the trigger for Providence last week, only to hold off.

He joins point guard Kris Dunn and shooting guard Josh Fortune in Providence’s 2012 haul.

He chose the Friars over Kentucky, Syracuse, UConn and West Virginia.

Dave Telep of ESPN.com first Tweeted the Ledo news.
