Former Rutgers Signee Taylor to Midland Junior College

Onetime Rutgers signee Mike Taylor has decided after several false starts to attend Midland (Texas) College.

The former Brooklyn Boys & Girls star had initially said he would attend Humble (Texas) Christian Life Center and play for new coach Rafer “Skip to My Lou” Alston. He then considered NIA Prep.

“A lot of people told me that this league was the best JUCO league in the country and a lot of people get schools from here,” he said by text. “If I want to be the best, I have to play against them.”

“We are excited to add a player of Mike’s caliber to an already great recruiting class,” said Midland coach Chris Craig, who also coached Iona star Mike Glover at the College of Eastern Utah. “Mike’s scoring ability, toughness and winning mentality will be counted on from day one.

“We will prepare him both on and off the floor to succeed at the highest of levels.”
