Brandon Ashley on Brink of Cutting List

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — Brandon Ashley is on the brink of cutting his list.

After putting up 18 points and 11 rebounds in the Oakland Soldiers 79-73 victory over the Playaz Basketball Club in the quarterfinals of the Peach Jam, Ashley said he planned to trim his list to “five or six” soon.

“I don’t really have a list yet,” said Ashley, a 6-foot-7, 220-pound rising senior power forward who will attend Findlay Prep. “I plan on getting that after Peach Jam.”

Arizona head coach Sean Miller and Oregon head coach Dana Altman and assistant Tony Stubblefield were at the game against the Playaz, and have been following Ashley throughout the Peach Jam.

“I’ve seen them front row every game I’ve been here,” Ashley said of Arizona and Oregon.

Kentucky coach John Calipari was also in the house against the Playaz.

“He’s in there, he’s in there,” Ashley said. “They’ve been coming after me hard since high school season. They’ve been after me as hard as anybody else.”

After cutting his list, Ashley said he may pull the trigger in the early signing period.

“I’m thinking I might sign early so I can go early. I just want to get it over with,” he said. “It’s a lot to deal with and really just make my decision early.”

  • Best move by Ashley is to sign early. Shows great maturity.

Is Ashley the New No.1 player…after the east coasters got a chance to see him.

    Note-
What is up with Parrish..and the 200k Story.
UK does not seem to shake it. Something is UP.
    Paper to Davis.

  • AZ,

    Good stuff on Chris Thomas.
    Any article on him

He seems to like two Wildcats.

  • 6-10? i thought he was 6-7 just a week ago?

  • Peach Jam handbook listed him as 6-10 but probably closer to 6-7.

  • The only school PF Brandon Ashley will go to is Arizona and that you can bank on. Yes Arizona has the best forwards from the 2011 class in PF Angelo Chol and PF Sidiki Johnson coming in to play for UA for this upcoming season and they also have a early commit from one of 2012’s best PF’s in Grant Jerrett to but all that still those not matter because the best school and the closet to home for Ashley is still UA because they are hands down the best school for Ashley to go and become a winner right away then going to run down schools like UCLA, Oregon, and especially going to a lowly crooked school like Kentucky and that’s for sure.

  • its funny zona fans think kentucky is a crooked school yet they are the ones just on probation for recruiting violations and they are the ones taking full advantage of the pump and run guys who miller is in bed with.

  • Didn’t UK just pull a press pass.
A main stream writer talked about the 200K to Davies.
Looks like this is very real.

And then another write up about WWW and James camp.

Are these two main reasons for which UK has ZERO commits. Fo sho

  • parrish just wrote the crap up to get hits because he ain’t got nothing else to write about, its the off-season, and you know his lazy a$$ isn’t gonna run around much to scout. If it was “very real” the story wouldn’t have dropped from the media as quick as it did when it was first published, if there was any truth to it, this would have been just as big if not bigger than the jim tressel violations. Uk doesn’t have a commitment yet, but thats because they don’t just take anybody, they only take the best, and u can bet they’ll end up with a top class.
