Chris Thomas, the No. 4 player in the Class of 2013 according to Rivals, is currently on an unofficial visit to Arizona.
And if trends continue, Thomas could be playing his college ball there, too.
Thomas holds offers from a Who’s Who of elite programs, including Kansas, Kentucky, UConn, Memphis and Arizona, but Westwind Prep coach Gary Trousdale said Arizona is currently working the hardest.
“Chris has expressed his interest in Arizona from Day 1,” Trousdale said. “Right now they are clearly No. 1 in his mind. I think something drastic would have to happen to turn that upside down.”
Thomas is coming off a 35-point performance last weekend in the finals of the 17-and-under division of the Jayhawk Invitational.
Thomas and the Colorado Hawks lost to Las Vegas-based Dream Vision, which was led by Shabazz Muhammad’s 36 points.
As first reported by ZAGSBLOG, Thomas in February transferred to Westwind from Bowie (Md.) Princeton Day.
After capturing its first Arizona 2A state title last season behind 6-6 junior guard Demarquise Johnson, Westwind Prep will move up to Division I next season, the state’s top bracket.
