Rutgers Hammers Miami / Tough Homecoming


PISCATAWAY, N.J. – When Mike Rice first got the Rutgers job he found an opening early in his non-conference schedule.

“Half of the BCS seemed to be on my desk of people wanting to play us,” Rice joked about his under-manned team that features nine scholarship players.

Even though he inherited a schedule that included Ivy League favorite Princeton and MAAC favorite Fairfield as the first two outings, Rice went ahead and picked Miami for the third game.
