Pitt’s Zanna Has Breakout Game Against Maryland

NEW YORK – Talib Zanna was born in Nigeria but played his high school ball at Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, Md.

As it turned out, the 6-foot-9 redshirt freshman put on a breakout performance for No. 5 Pittsburgh while playing against Maryland.

Hustling up and down the court and combining a non-stop motor with a nice mid-range shooting touch, Zanna put up career-highs of 14 points and 12 rebounds as the Panthers held off the Terps, 79-70, in the first game of the Coaches vs. Cancer event at Madison Square Garden.
