Garrett, Pelle Visiting St. John’s

St. John’s will host a huge recruiting weekend beginning Friday when Amir Garrett and Norvel Pelle both come East to the Queens campus.

Findlay Prep assistant coach Todd Simon confirmed that the 6-foot-7 Garrett will trip to St. John’s.

“Yes, Amir’s visiting this weekend to St. John’s,” he said by text.

The NCAA early signing period begins Wednesday.

Garrett, the No. 15 small forward in the Class of 2011, has already visited Oregon and recently said he planned to sign in the spring.

“I’m not sure yet,” he said recently. “I don’t think I’m going to sign in November.”

Garrett is aware that St. John’s — which had 10 scholarships to give — has gotten five verbal commitments from some stellar players, including wings Maurice Harkless of Queens and Dominick Pointer of Detroit, as well as guards D’Angelo Harrison and Nurideen Lindsey and forward JaKarr Sampson.

“I’m not really worried about that,” Garrett said. “It doesn’t matter. They’re going there so that’s better for St. John’s and if I go there we’ll all play together and that will be perfect. We’ll win games.”

The 6-10 Pelle, the No. 2 center in the Class of 2011 out of Los Angeles Price High, will take his first official to St. John’s, as first reported here earlier this week.

  • AZ,

    Good stuff.
YOU got that RIGHT… U the first on Pelle.

    Note:
    CASH MONEY…

The SEC is actively recruiting with the promise of cash money- at least 200k is the going rate.

AND.. the NCAA is understaffed and NOT able to handle this MAJOR problem.

The CASH MONEY payment is common in the SEC with the football teams and the BASKETBALL team(s).
The most obvious is Cali and those Kentucky Cashcats.

    Davis got CASH MONEY?
Enes got paid early and his poppa still askes….
(Wonder if Eric B. will ever come out…)

When is someone going to ask for a release of information on Kansas Gangster U.
What is up over there Woody and Chalkie.

  • AZ,
