Brandon Bolden, a 6-foot-10, 205-pound big man from Sumter, S.C., verbally committed to Georgetown Friday night during Midnight Madness.
“Yes, I did,” he said by phone.
“They have a great staff. They’re real genunine and make you feel at home. I liked the atmosphere. The players just welcomed me and made me feel like you’re at home.”
Bolden is the No. 14 center and No. 81 prospect in the Class of 2012 according to Rivals.
Bolden, who attends the Crozet (Va.) Miller School, said he chose the Hoyas over Florida, Virginia Tech, Virginia, VCU, Georgia and Baylor.
Bolden liked Georgetown’s tradition of sending big men like Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Morning, Dikembe Mutombo and Roy Hibbert to the NBA.
Asked if he wanted to follow them into the league, Bolden said, “Yes, sir. Definitely. That’s the plan. The tradition of Georgetown sending guys to the league, that’s a plus. Being such a great school it fits for me and they send people to the league, that’s a plus.”
Bolden wants to develop his face-up game and said the staff told him, “If I continue to work hard, which I will, they see a Jeff Green or Greg Monroe kind of thing.”
Georgetown recently got a commit from 2011 big man Mikael Hopkins of DeMatha.

PURVIS REJOINS 2012
Purvis repeated the eighth grade two years and was originally expected to graduate in 2013, the newspaper reported.
“Rodney wasn’t sure he wanted to reclassify when we did,” his mother, Shanda McNair, told the paper. “He didn’t want people to think he was a poor student.
“At the time, I told him that we’d look at the decision later on. He has worked exceptionally hard academically and will have the credits to graduate after next year.”
Purvis, the No. 2 prospect in the Class of 2013 according to Rivals, is considering Duke, Texas, North Carolina, Xavier, Louisville, Kentucky, Baylor, Wake Forest, Memphis, North Carolina Central , Virginia and Virginia Tech, according to Dave Telep of ESPN.

If the AD is not fired.
Then, the NCAA has not done it due deligence.
Expect a much HARSHer penality.
