Antoine Dodson Getting Rich Off ‘Bed Intruder’ Song

Only in American could a man get rich off a song about the attempted rape of his sister.

Huntsville, Ala., native Antoine Dodson became a YouTube sensation when Auto-Tune the News took his rant about the attempted rape of his sister, Kelly Dodson, and transformed it into an R&B masterpiece.

According to Techland.com, “the song reached the top 50 on the iTunes music charts, was redone by Mario Paint and members of Paramore and New Found Glory and Relient K came up with a punk version. The entire North Carolina A&T State University marching band performed it on the football field. NPR did a story on the societal implications behind the fact a song about an attempted rape in the projects could become so popular.”

In this awkward interview with Shira Lazar of CBS (is she really a journalist?), Dodson was asked what he’s doing with the money he gets from iTunes.

“It’s going to benefit me and my family getting a new house,” he said.

He told UsMagazine.com: “”We found a house!…It’s for my whole family. And these are new houses that have just been built.”

Here’s hoping nobody is climbing in the windows at his new crib.
