Wozniacki Wins ‘Battle of the Blondes’; Fish’s Summer Run Ended by Djokovic

NEW YORK — Early in the second set of her fourth-round match against Maria Sharapova at the U.S. Open, Caroline Wozniacki stumbled onto her back as she approached the net.

The 20-year-old blonde Dane lay flat on her back, splayed out below more than 20,000 fans in Arthur Ashe Stadium and let out a megawatt smile as Sharapova’s lob landed beyond the baseline. The crowd cheered when it was clear that the No. 1 seed wasn’t hurt.
