
Two weeks later, she hopes to be the last woman standing at the U.S. Open.
“My husband is probably more excited than I am,” Clijsters, the defending Open champ, told ESPN on Thursday about throwing out the first pitch before the Mets play the Houston Astros. “I’m actually looking forward to it. I’ve got a pretty good shoulder so I think I can throw a good ball out there.”
Clijsters is the No. 2 seed at this year’s Open after winning it as a wild card and a mother last year.
