For what it’s worth, Mitch Whitehurst says Terrence Jones will play for Washington.
“Terrence is going to the University of Washington because that’s what I heard him verbally say,” Whitehurst, the athletic director at Portland (Ore.) Jefferson High, told the Seattle Times. “He said he wanted to go with his boy Terrence Ross and Terrence Ross is at Washington so I’m assuming that he’s going to do exactly what he said. Follow his boy and follow his decision.”
The 6-foot-8 Jones verbally committed Friday to Washington but did not sign his Letter of Intent. He then spoke with Kentucky coach John Calipari, fueling speculation that he might still land at Kentucky.
The Wildcats landed guards Brandon Knight and Doron Lamb but missed out on C.J. Leslie (N.C. State) and Jones. They could use a big man to augment next year’s class, although they do have 6-9 Turkish star Enes Kanter coming next fall, assuming he is cleared to play by the NCAA.
Jones, his mother, Linda Mashia-Jones and Jefferson coach Pat Strickland have not returned text messages.
Whitehurst said there was not a second press conference planned for Jones.
“We’re just going to keep it the way it is,” Whitehurst told the Seattle Times. “He’s going to Washington. We’re not going to redo this.”

It’s some insider stuff. People will doubt it. Calipari kept calling anyone who would give the phone to Jones. That way he’s not calling Jones. In many of the articles they kept saying people kept coming up to Jones giving him the phone. That was Calipari trying to get him to rethink. Romar was set to talk to him but could not do so because the LOI was not signed therefore the meeting with Romar has not taken place. The Kentucky school plane or plane they used has been tracked and was in Oregon. WWW has been in contact with Jones father. Jones Mom wants him to go UW, and really likes Romar while his Dad has been getting worked by Wes. There is no more for Jones to learn about either school the longer he takes it means he’s going to UK. Kentucky can offer more than UW in terms of gifts promises future considerations. The whole situation is a total screw job. I feel bad for Romar. I also know for a fact Mark Emmert is absolutely livid about the whole situation. He knew about the Jones recruitment for a while and knows whats going on now. I can’t stress enough how upset he was Calipari may get Jones but UK will get full attention paid to them as long as he’s president of the NCAA.

While you are watching the video, check Jones mother’s reaction when he picked the UW hat. Thats because he had already told Calipari he was coming to UK , then got overwhelmed by the event and switched his pick. There is no proof that call was Calipari or anyone involved with UK.

Really? Tampering? That shows how incompetent you are. If the player had signed a LOI, maybe so, but without a letter sign, there are no rules prohibiting a player and potential recruit from discussing, especially when the recruit calls the coach to say “I made a mistake and should’ve picked Kentucky”.
