Kyrie Irving Talks Duke, Carolina & Gilchrist

Here’s my video interview with Duke-bound point guard Kyrie Irving of Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick.

Irving won Co-MVP honors at the Jordan Brand Classic Saturday night along with his good friend, Harrison Barnes.

“This is like a bittersweet ending,” Irving said after the game. “I’m happy to win MVP, but also I’m sad that I’m going to be leaving him. I call him my big brother and him going to North Carolina and I’m going to be at Duke, our friendship is going to continue.”

In this interview, Kyrie talks about his future at Duke, his friendship with Barnes and his thoughts on teammate Michael Gilchrist’s commitment to Kentucky.

Irving also said he plans to play this summer for either the U.S. or Australia in the U18 Championship. Irving was born in Australia while his father, Drederick, played pro ball there.
