Baskin’s List Includes Seton Hall

Tevin Baskin, a 6-foot-7, 190 combo forward from Stamford (Ct.) Trinity Catholic, has trimmed his list to four schools: Seton Hall, Xavier, Auburn and Virginia Tech, according to The Auburn Villager.

Baskin is ranked No. 26 among power forwards and 103 overall in the Class of 2009, according to Rivals.

Baskin plays with the New York Gauchos summer program, which used to be headed by Book Richardson, now an assistant under Sean Miller at Xavier. He is also the kind of local impact recruit Bobby Gonzalez would love to land at Seton Hall. Rutgers had offered Baskin but apparently did not make the cut.

Speaking of Seton Hall, Kevin Armstrong of Sports Illustrated.com has a good in-depth look at the recruitment of St. Anthony star Dominic Cheek that contains some eye-catching references to the Pirates that were first mentioned here in March in a less splashier context.

Cheek, who took an unofficial to the Seton Hall campus on June 27. told me earlier this week at the USA U18 National Team Trials that Villanova was “showing him the most love.”
