West Virginia coach Bob Huggins is fond of telling a story about his hometown of Midvale, Ohio, which features, “500 people, two stoplights and nine bars.”
As a young man, Huggins once got into a truck with a man from his hometown, noticed the vehicle had no rear-view mirror and asked him about it.
“I don’t back up,” the man told Huggins. “We’re going forward, son.”
West Virginia, the newly minted Big East tournament champion, and seven other Big East teams are going forward into the NCAA tournament after the bracket was announced on Selection Sunday.

Being a UK fan…Selection committee did not do us any favors, but Kansas got screwed! They gave the Big East a lot of respect, let see if it was deserved.

I dont see how It wouldnt be, all of our teams In the field have had twenty plus win seasons Including Georgetown who had the toughest schedule In the nation

Villanova a #2 seed…a stretch struggling right now, but dangerous
Pitt a #3 seed…a stretch, a little too high for me( 4 or 5 )
Notre Dame #6…they are playing great now, but come on!
8 teams in are well deserved. The one team that got slighted was West Virginia, should have been put in Duke’s region, they are better than Duke IMO. I like the Cards too beat Duke. I am just a basketball fan with an opinion. I know I am nick picking, but that is what today is for. I am just happy we are in it this year.

Final 4 Big East teams in the past 20 years = 8 …….SEC = 13 ……most overrated in the nation

As usual the selection committee has set Cal up for a trap game in the 2nd round ……lol ….. if UK gets by Texas they’ll breeze to the finals …just like Memphis in 08

And how many wins does the SEC have out of twenty I only remember Florida winning a few, we had two In last year alone = Big East ball conference In the land and you just plain delusional

I disagree pastaboy, I dont think UK will have any trouble with Texas, on paper it looks that way but texas is playing terrible right now. Wall and Bledsoe will dominate Texas’s guards. but i do think UK will have trouble with Wisconsin and West Virginia
Wisconsins style of play is unique and could cause problems for UK. (although i think UK will win in a grinder), and West Virginia is playing well right now. UK does not have a good answer for Butler on the defensive end. That will be a great game in the regional final, and WV has an extremely easy road to get there (MU/Clem, then New Mexico/Marquette)

W.Va / Uk would not be for the faint of heart underneath the glass ….. this game would depend alot on the style of officiating …… I don’t think Wisconsin beats Temple …but UK will beat either by 12 . I say Texas is a grinder …..and W.Va loses by 5 ….unless Cousins gets in foul trouble. Its a tough regional .
