Paterson Catholic, Rice Headline Fall Ball

One of the most competitive fall leagues in the area is the Paterson Dept of Recreation’s Fall Ball run out of Paterson Kennedy High School. This year eight elite teams will compete on Wednesday nights: Paterson Catholic, Paterson Kennedy, Paterson Eastside, Rice, St. Raymond’s, Don Bosco, Wings Academy and Edison Academy.  St. Patrick and Bloomfield Tech, which competed last year, will not play this season.

Games begin Sept. 10 and run through Oct. 22, with the playoffs Oct. 28 and 29.

Among the top players expected to compete are Durand Scott of Rice (pictured), Fuquan Edwin, Trevor Clemmings, Jayon James, Shaq Thomas and Myles Mack of Paterson Catholic; and Karon Abraham of Paterson Eastside.

A year ago, Kemba Walker, Scott and Rice defeated Paterson Eastside in the title game.

There will also be a Monday league featuring Teaneck, Paramus Catholic, Newark East Side, Clifton, West Milford, St. Peter’s, Manchester and Hackensack.
