Former UConn and Seton Hall guard Sterling Gibbs will play summer league with the Washington Wizards, he told SNY.tv.
Before going undrafted on Thursday night, the Scotch Plains, N.J., native had two workouts with the Wizards.
Washington is among 24 teams scheduled to compete in Samsung NBA Summer League 2016 from July 8-18 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the UNLV campus.
The younger brother of former Pittsburgh guard Ashton Gibbs, Sterling averaged 12.3 points, 2.3 assists and 2.2 rebounds last season at UConn.
According to one report, Gibbs is the only point guard on Washington’s summer league roster, which also includes Kelly Oubre, Aaron White, Jarell Eddie, Jaleel Roberts, Daniel Ochefu, Shawn Dawson, Sheldon McClellan, Danuel House and Kaleb Tarczewski.
