Kemba Drops 29 as UConn Slays No. 3 Nova

PHILADELPHIA — The upsets keep on coming in the Big East and Kemba Walker has authored the latest dramatic one for UConn.

The sophomore guard from The Bronx put up a career-high points 29 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists to lead the Huskies to an 84-75 victory over No. 3 Villanova before a disappointed crowd of 18,123 at the Wachovia Center and a national television audience watching on ESPN’s “Big Monday.”

“I was just trying to be aggressive. They backed up off me. I guess they wanted me to take the jump shot. Tonight I kind of got into a zone. I was shooting shots and making shots, but my teammates found me,” said Walker, the former Manhattan Rice star who was 6 of 10 from the field and 14 of 16 from the line.
