Montverde Academy, Sports U Prominent in ESPN 2018 Rankings

Montverde (FL) Academy, coached by New Jersey native Kevin Boyle, and the Jersey-based Sports U AAU program both figure prominently in the new 2018 ESPN 60 rankings.

Montverde features players ranked No. 6 (Silvio De Sousa), 11 (Simi Shittu) and 13 (E.J. Montgomery). Montverde also features 2019 Canadian guard R.J. Barrett.

As for Sports U, the program has players ranked No. 4 (Naz Reid), 27 (Louis King) and 28 (Jahvon Quinerly). The 6-8 Reid out of Roselle (N.J.) Catholic will visit St. John’s on Wednesday with his Sports U teammates Luther Muhammad, Louis King and Nate Pierre-Louis, Sports U coach Brian Coleman told SNY.tv.

King, Muhammad and Quinerly all play for Hudson Catholic and coach Nick Mariniello. Reid, King, Muhammad, Quinerly and Atiba Taylor comprise the “Fab Five” that collectively holds offers from Seton Hall, Rutgers and UConn.

PSA Cardinals small forward Isaiah Mucius is ranked No. 30, Montclair (N.J.) Immaculate point guard Jalen Carey is No. 32 and Archbishop Molloy big man Moses Brown is No. 56.

Meantime, Marvin Bagley topped the Class of 2018 rankings, followed by Tennessee shooting guard Romeo Langford, California center Jordan Brown, Reid and Pennsylvania small forward Cam Reddish.
