In the wake of this weekend’s holiday events, here are a few recruiting tidbits on three of the top unsigned guards in the Class of 2010:
**Cory Joseph — Despite published reports that the Findlay Prep guard is down to UConn and Villanova, Joseph insists he’s still also considering Minnesota, Texas and UNLV.
“No, I still have all five schools,” Joseph wrote in a text.
Asked if he had a timetable on deciding, he said: “No timetable, just whenever I feel 100 percent about it.”
Joseph posted 23 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists against St. Patrick Monday in a 71-70 victory to earn Most Outstanding Player honors at the Hoophall Classic.
**Josh Selby — Kansas and Arizona lead for the talented 6-3 guard from Baltimore (Md.) Lake Clifton, sources close to the situation said.
Selby recently visited Arizona. Next up are trips to Kansas (Feb. 13-14), UConn (Feb. 28) and Kentucky (March 7-8).
Syracuse and Indiana are also in the mix.
**Brandon Knight — Kentucky coach John Calipari was on hand Monday when Knight dropped 39 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists as Fort Lauderdale Pine Crest downed Cincinnati Jefferson, 68-61, in Dayton.
Michigan State-bound Adreian Payne had 16 points and 13 boards for Jefferson.
Knight lists Kentucky, Kansas, Florida, Miami and UConn and will sign in the spring.
“Those schools are still in the mix,” Knight told Jody Demling of the Louisville Courier Journal. “They’re still pretty even.”
He has one visit left and is expected to visit Miami.
“He does have one visit left. I do believe he will take a visit to Miami,” Beckerman said.
Pine Crest coach Dave Beckerman said Knight was in no hurry to decide and that it was a bad idea to consider Knight a “replacement” for John Wall at Kentucky.
USA JUNIOR NATIONAL TEAM CHOSEN
The first nine members of the eventual 10-man USA roster for the 2010 USA Junior National Select Team were chosen: guards Harrison Barnes (Ames H.S. / Ames, Iowa), Will Barton (Brewster Academy / Baltimore, Md.), Reggie Bullock (Kinston H.S. / Kinston, N.C.), Kyrie Irving (St. Patrick H.S. / Elizabeth, N.J.), Brandon Knight (Pine Crest H.S. / Lauderdale, Fla.) and Kendall Marshall (Bishop O’Connell H.S. / Arlington, Va.); forwards Tobias Harris (Half Hollow Hills West H.S. / Brookville, N.Y.) and Terrence Jones (Jefferson H.S. / Portland, Ore.); and Jared Sullinger (Northland H.S. / Columbus, Ohio) at center.
Serving as head coach for the USA will be Bob Cimmino, who has been the head coach at Mount Vernon High School (N.Y.) since 1994, compiling a 324-57 overall record.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Go to Arizona Josh, you will own the PAC-10 next year and will be the next great PG from the U of A!

Good stuff AZ.
The West is also hearing that Josh S. has Arizona and Kansas.
We are waiting for the next move by Book.
Note:
A helicopter by Cali…too much for Knight.
Come on MAN.
Doron Lamb—-
Also hearing that EB will return to Kentucky.
EB is not ready and is 99.999% certain of returning.
April. Really?

RockChalkWoody / January 19, 2010
Well, the Midwest is hearing Selby to KU. And according to Jessie, UA already has their PG in Momo Jones. Why would Selby go there if he has to compete with that? Oh, that’s right, Jessie is full of crap & Momo is marginal at best.
/
UAWildcat / January 19, 2010
Kansas has E. Johnson, so KU and UA would have competion at the pg spot, but I think Selby and Johnson or Jones or anyother guard could play together much like Wall and Bledsoe this year at UK. And yes all of UA fans know Jessie is a tool.
/
GasCan / January 19, 2010
What does Lamb have to do with Bledsoe? Bledsoe 99.999% returning? Not according to Chad Ford at ESPN or Bledsoe’s HS coach.

beardown3232 / January 20, 2010
If Selby is looking for more playing time, I think Arizona is the better fit. Momo is not that reliable of a PG no matter what JessieWildcat says. He is average at best as that is coming from an Arizona fan. We do have Daniel Bejarano coming in and he might be a starter from day 1. I expect Selby to sign with KU after hearing how is mom was talking about Arizona. She considers Arizona and Indiana in a lower class after KU and Kentucky rightfully so and for that reason I think Selby joins a loaded Kansas team.

Woody, Woody….
Nice words from a Kansas “Gangster U” man.
I hear Self still has the new police of “Keep the Mouth Shut”.
Right?
The tools lie within KU.. Lew did the wrong thing.
Tenn did the right thing.
Maybe Lew should learn.
Now the “players” are talking.
Like it has been stated before…Top2: Arizona and Kansas?
I”m just saying..

Momo is far from a point guard. I am pleasantly surprised at how high he has UA right now. I still don’t expect him to sign at UA but will be ecstatic if he does.

Kansass is full of crap. It is all in the name boy! I have a woody, are you it?!lol Does anyone know why there is a woody in Kansass?
/
davidpk19 / January 20, 2010
There we go with all the hillibillies from Kansass thinking that everyone wants to move out to the north pole. You guys are hicks and losers who are living there where there is nothing going on and if you could bail, you know that you would. You should go and grow corn boy. The rest of the country needs food and you guys should stick to farming, something that you kansassans understand and leave serious matters to the rest of the country.
/
davidpk19 / January 20, 2010
The whole state of Kansass sucks. Please name the contribution of the mighty state to the Union? You can’t, can you?!
/
RockChalkWoody / January 21, 2010
Jessie, I’ve always wanted to ask you why you were banned from the UA boards, but then you’ll post something and it becomes more clear. It’s sad because I like talking hoops with UA fans (and you’ve ruined it).
As for david, could you please try & keep your psychotic rants to just one post? It’s really creepy when you have to make multiple posts (like you’re talking to yourself). You do realize that this is a basketball board, right? I’ve never seen you actually post anything basketball-related.
/
palpalife / January 21, 2010
Remember, reading what Jessie has to say is like listening to Bush jr. The content isn’t nearly as important as the language used. Entertaining but nothing more informative than a fan blowing hot air in your face.

More playing time? Selby is a Top 10 player in the nation! Playing time isn’t going to be an issue. He’ll be the starting point guard and play as many minutes as he wants no matter where he goes.
As far as MoMo is concerned; the kid is developing nicely but Arizona needs a more talented point guard to replace Nic Wise and his experience next year. MoMo is a working project right now, we need a completed one to step in right away and lead our team.
And how was Selby’s mom talking about Arizona? Did you read a one line quote somewhere to come to the conclusion that she thinks Arizona is in a lower class? I’ve read full interviews and her and Josh enjoyed their trip to Tucson. It wasn’t what they were expecting as far as the scenery goes, but they enjoyed their time there.
Selby’s mom was even quoted saying that they would have NEVER wasted an official visit to Arizona unless they thought Josh would fit into Arizona’s system and he could see himself playing there. They are very interest in Arizona. The only downfall was that we were young and rebuilding, so that is the only thing negative I heard Selby’s mom say. But that didn’t really matter if a rebuilding team had warriors, players who want to win, according to her and we have that.
I think Selby and Lamb are just waiting to see where Brandon Knight goes. Kentucky’s clear number 1 choice is Knight so I’m sure that turns Selby off knowing he’s their number 2 pick. Lamb was also stating that he’ll wait probably till April to decide, I think he’ll make his decision based on what Selby does. So it’s basically a domino affect and we won’t know anything till after the NCAA tournament.

Easy on the “Gangster U” comments, Gilbert Arenas.
And just out of curiosity, what team do you root for, davidpk?
Now, back to the topic at hand: I wonder what effect Calhoun’s leave of absence will have on the recruitment of Lamb, Selby, and Knight. From what I’ve read, UConn was making a significant push for them…
/
ZonaWildcat / January 21, 2010
I’m sure Calhoun is getting the same kind of recruiting tactics thrown at him that Lute Olson was getting his last couple years at Arizona; that he is too old and why go there since he will probably retire before you go to school there.
Here is an article I found on MSN talking about both Calhoun and Olson and their similar situation…

davidpk is from Kentucky, and we’ve already been over this before, that despite all his attempts to slam the state of Kansas, that he actually comes from the real hillybilly state, Kentucky. This is evident by the un-educated rants that he posts and the lack of overall basketball IQ
/
JessieWildcat / January 22, 2010
All those nasty rumors of John C and UConn are getting out of control.
Simliar tactics were followed with Lute.
The WEST dislike these types of behavior.
Woody,—-
For all the money that Lew is getting, he should of handled the fights, drinking ..more effectively.
Self exposed himself by the new policy ” Shut your Mouth”.
Did Self allowed those yearly fights to continue?
Keeping it all quite.
PS- Go read the threads on Daniel Bejarano,MoMo,S.Hill,DWill, USC-Tim,NBowlingBMattews.
And then there is SoonyDykes,JimL,MarkS,Tobias,Smith.

AZ,
You were the first to report Kentucky and Knight situation.
Weeks ahead of everyone else.
Is this thing Done, Done?
Any word on the package- JS and DL.
50-50?
And why are the recruits turning away from Kansas.
This year has not been very good.
Keep the good stuff coming.

Gascan,
How does your statement make you feel…not too bright.
U have no idea the EB assocition.
And who cares about Ford….GMs say, biggest mistake for EB is leave.
He is one, maybe two years away. For sure.
I’m just saying.
/
JessieWildcat / January 23, 2010
What are the chances of UK Calicat getting Knight and Josh Selby?
I have at it at ZERO.
The biggest mistake maybe EB leaving early.
From what I have seen..EB is no JW.
Lets see if his advisors can get a handle.
Sorry
EB is not going anywhere.
