The next visit Josh Selby takes will be to Arizona, not Kentucky.
The 6-foot-2, 183-pound point guard out of Lake Baltimore (Md.) Clifton postponed a planned visit Saturday to Kentucky for the Louisville-Kentucky game, according to a report by Jody Demling of the Louisville Courier Journal.
“We won’t be able to make the visit right now,” Maeshon Witherspoon, Selby’s mother, told Demling.
The Kentucky visit has been postponed until March 7.
Selby will visit Arizona Jan. 9-11, following a visit to the desert by Oak Hill (Va.) Academy guard Doron Lamb. Lamb, recently named the MVP of the Les Schwab Invitational in Oregon, comes to Arizona Jan. 7-9.
Selby has already visited Kansas for “Late Night in the Phog,” and Witherspoon also told Demling her son may visit Kansas again over Valentine’s Day weekend. The Jayhawks host Iowa State Feb. 13.
Selby has also visited Indiana and is considering Syracuse as well.

Good call by Mrs W.
The West hears that Calicats and Kansas were after Knight, strong pushes.
And we all know …. a back up recruit does not hold well for such schools.
Lets see how the Arizona visit goes.
Mrs W and JS should have a good visit.
PS-
How is Pitino doing these days?
Rupp will be BRUTAL with Rickie…
The signs and cheers will be seen and heard- nationally.
Ouch.

Well, if Selby carries firearms & likes to keep them in his locker then Gansta U (I mean Point Guard U) is the place he should end up. I’ve always heard there’s a huge gang problem in Tucson so is that where Arenas learned to pack heat?
Jessie, what’s the “back up” plan for the Mildcats? Afterall, that team has so many holes in it I don’t know where you’d start.
FYI the Midwest hears that UK and KU will each be very happy when Knight & Selby make their decisions.

RockChalk- Tucson has one of the lowest crime rates nationally for cities of comparable size. Not sure where you heard about a huge gang problem, but that’s just not the case at all.
I do have to say since you took this road. It simply does amaze me how any college recruit like Selby would want to spend any time or live in extremely cold-flat and depressing Lawrence Kansas when they can go to the scenic college communities in the west with great weather like Westwood, Palo Alto, Tucson, Seattle, etc.. I give lots of credit for the kids Kansas is able to lure in, obviously the tradition plays a big part. But is just befuddles me.. .The KU coaches have got to be the best used car sales people on the planet to get a kid to go to live in Lawrence, Kansas.

PacDan, you’ve obviously never been to Lawrence so I won’t waste my time explaining what a beautiful campus KU has. There’s a reason it’s called Mount Oread.
I don’t think you have to be a used car salesman to sell the history of tradition & winning at the University of Kansas.
And if you know anything at all about Jessie you’d understand why I took the road I did. As for the gang problem I have a good friend who lived in Phoenix for years and he often speaks about what a dump Tucson is.

Gangsta U? After all, Arenas concealed a weapon and drew his gun while at Arizona. I am still under the impression that Kansas is Gangsta U. I heard the real reason Mangina got fired was because of his illegal use of school funds. Apparently he payed to give his football team boxing lessons after the beating they took by your basketball team!

What is going on at Gangsta U(Aka Kansas) ? or just a bunch of cheaters?
/
davidpk19 / January 2, 2010
Don’t you just say “Pull-out your check book coach Self and write the check or buy the house for them?” You are shameless in Kansas, aren’t you?
/
davidpk19 / January 2, 2010
They only dress cross-dressers for their football team in Kansas! They got their asses whipped by a bunch of hoodlum, scrawny basketball players. Wow!!!!
/
davidpk19 / January 2, 2010
Is Kansas still a relevant state? I mean, are they represented in the Congress? What a bunch of losers! Who lives in Kansas?
/
RockChalkWoody / January 3, 2010
davidpeckerk19, why don’t you put all of your thoughts in just one post? You look like you pulled a JessieWildcat & had a conversation with yourself. And why all of the hostility toward KU? Are you Bruce Weber in disguise?

I believe you are thinking of USC, not KU. Our players do not roll around in Navigators. In fact, when I was in school, Nick Collison drove his mom’s minivan around campus for 4 years.
“Cheaters”… that sounds more like a John Calipari coached team.
The state of Kansas produces a large portion of the food and goods you consume every day and buy from you local grocery store. If you like fresh food in your grocery store, I would have to say the state of Kansas has a lot of relevance.
You guys sit on here and slam KU when there are multiple programs out there getting themselves in a lot of trouble, where coach Self and KU have run a pretty tight program for the last 7 years, and the 15 years before that with coach Williams. A lot of what you say is not fact, it’s just heresay, i.e. “I heard the real reason Mangina got fired was because of his illegal use of school funds.” Who did you hear that from? You must have someone on the inside, or did the attendant at the gas station leak that to you?
Losers? Did you happen to see that game today? Man we look tough, but I will wait until the end of the season to gloat anymore

davidpk19 / January 3, 2010
Please do not compare coach Williams to your current sleaze-ball of a head coach named Self! While Williams was all class, Self is not even worthy of mention in the same article as he and his staff are known for being cheaters. Gangsta U is in full form.

RockChalkWoody / January 3, 2010
Coach Williams? You mean the one that left KU with violations after he left for UNC? Our current coach runs a clean program & more importantly, understands the NCAA rules unlike our previous coach (i.e., Roy giving out little graduation gifts to players).
Do your homework before posting–your lack of knowledge on KU basketball is quite obvious.
