Spike Albrecht will finish his college career at Purdue and will be eligible immediately after transferring from Michigan, he announced on Twitter.

The 5-foot-11 guard from Crowne Point, IN, chose Purdue over Syracuse, Indiana, USC, Milwaukee, Wichita State and Texas A&M, according to Scout.com.

“I chose Purdue because I really respect coach Painter and what he’s all about,” Albrecht told the site. “On my visit the guys welcomed me with open arms so I could tell they have a great culture in place. They also have a great masters program and the fact that Purdue is an hour from home was the icing on the cake.”

He averaged 7.5 points and 3.9 assists as a junior with the Wolverines, but had two hip surgeries that limited him to just 1.9 points per game in limited time last season.
