  • Five-star Caleb Wilson chooses North Carolina

    By SAM LANCE

Caleb Wilson, the No. 6 overall prospect in the 2025 class, has committed to Hubert Davis and North Carolina, he announced live on TNT.

Wilson — the 6-foot-9, 205-pound jumbo wing from Holy Innocents Episcopal School (GA) and the Nightrydas Elite Nike EYBL AAU program — chose the Tar Heels over Kentucky. He’s the highest ranked recruit Davis has picked up as the Tar Heels head coach, up there with 2024’s No. 8 overall prospect Ian Jackson. Davis also had a hand in recruiting five-star guards Caleb Love and Cole Anthony before he became the head man.

The five-star forward has always been a highly touted recruit, but Wilson really made a name for himself at Peach Jam this past summer. Wilson played like an absolute menace, blocking shots and playing with tons of energy. His averages of 17.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 4.6 stocks helped Nightrydas Elite take the tournament crown.

Wilson will join an already impressive class for North Carolina that includes a pair of four-star guards in Derek Dixon and Isaiah Denis. The story surrounding the Tar Heels this college basketball season has been the lack of an elite player in the frontcourt. Wilson will provide exactly that next season.
