Georgetown latest to make offer to Nate Watson

Nate Watson, a 6-foot-9 power forward from Bishop O’Connell (VA), picked up an offer from Georgetown on Wednesday.

Nate Watson, a 6-foot-9 Class of 2017 power forward from Bishop O’Connell (VA), picked up an offer from Georgetown on Wednesday.

Watson also holds offers from Cincinnati, Providence, Oregon, USC, West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Xavier and Temple.

Providence head coach Ed Cooley passed through last week to meet with Watson, and Maryland, Virginia Tech and Georgetown have also seen him.

“He’s the best big man in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area,” Dwayne Wise, the GM of the Team Melo Basketball AAU program, told SNY.tv. “He has gone from showing flashes to now drawing double-teams.

“Coach Fred Howze, Nate’s primary AAU coach, did a great job with Nate’s off-the-court development. Nate grew from 6-4 to 6-9 in less than two years and has dominated this year in the WCAC under coach Joe Wootten. Nate will team with Roselle Catholic forward Andre Rafus on Team Melo 17U to give us a premier frontcourt.”
