Doron Lamb Coming Off Oklahoma Visit

Doron Lamb is coming off an official visit to Oklahoma this weekend and has several other visits planned.

The Queens, N.Y. native and Oak Hill (Va.) Academy guard will visit Kansas the weekend of Oct. 16 and a visit for Arizona is tentatively set for the weekend of Oct. 23.

“Then we’ll just have to wait and see what happens after that,” said his father, Calvin Lamb, who took the Oklahoma trip with his son.

St. John’s, UConn and Kentucky are also in the mix.

“He still wants to see Kentucky. You only get five [visits] so we’ll have to see,” Calvin said.

He added: “I don’t think he has a favorite right now.”

As for the Oklahoma visit, Calvin said all went well. Harrison Barnes, the No. 2 prospect in the Class of 2010, was also on the visit. Lamb and Barnes will be together again for the Kansas visit for “Late Night in the Phog.”

“It went well. It was nice. It was good,” Calvin said. “He didn’t [play with the team]. His coach [Oak Hill coach Steve Smith] didn’t want him to go out there and get hurt. He relaxed and watched them. It was smart.”

Still, anything can happen going forward.

“He was  impressed with Oklahoma but things change. You see other campuses, you meet other players, the coaches. I wouldn’t say he has a favorite right now unitl he sees a couple more schools.”

ARIZONA GETS VISITORS

A number of elite recruits will visit Arizona for the Blue/Red Game Oct. 31: Quinn Cook, Alex Murphy, Angel Nunez and Arizona-bound guard Sidiki Johnson of St. Benedict’s Prep.

Ray McCallum will take an official visit that weekend.

Adreian Payne comes to campus Oct. 16-18 for an official and Gary Franklin Jr. is tentative for that weekend.

Terrence Jones is tentative for Oct. 23-25, as is Doron Lamb.

  • AZ,

    Top notch stuff.

This is why AZ was voted the No.1 Wildcat Internet Site in the East.

Good to hear that Doron and family had a good time with OKL and tiny.
Especially good to hear that Doron is taking more visits and has no favorites.
His next visit is into the “Danger Zone”. LOL
Yes, Kansas “Gangster U”. So, be careful. Be very careful.
But really, it should also be a good trip to see Bill S.

Oct. 31 is looking like a good time to visit Arizona.
Everyone will be dress up for the occassion.

    TRICK or TREAT……..

  • Doesn’t sound good for OU, but you have to respect Capel even getting into the short list on some of these kids.

I predict a bright future for Capel, no wonder Arizona pursued him so hard before they were rebuffed and went down their list (eventually settling on Miller).

  • Capel is working the recruits very effectively.
Capel will end up at Dook ,within the next few X years.
He has that contract clause which applies to Dook.
Moreover, OKL may also be out with TJ, due to the Clark commit.
Two players for the same spot. That’s one too many.

PS- Within minutes of this AZ posting…..it spread like WILDFIRE in the WEST.
You hear about those California forest fires…Just to give you an idea.
Also heard that someone pulled Bennie and relayed the news, in LA LA land.

    Trick or Treat.

  • Woody,

I am hearing some excellent news about EJ.

He appears to be an exciting player.
Yeah, the brothers received alot of the hype.
But, he has some very good skills.

What your take on his role and production, this year?

    PS-
It does appear that the WILDFIRE in the West has reached the East (RO).
Trick or Treat weekend is looking bigger.

  • WHAT is going to happen NEXT at Kansass…….

    Woody is being quite?
I gave reference to the Gangster U because there is ANOTHER ISSUE at Kansas.

Lew , what is going on at Kansass “Gangster U”.

a series of FIGHTS as well as guard Brady Morningstar’s arrest last weekend for suspicion of DWI, have surrounded the program.

Markieff Morris was one of several basketball players named as having been involved in the football/basketball altercations. Last December, Morris accepted a diversion agreement in Douglas County after pleading not guilty to shooting a woman with a BB gun from his apartment window in August. WHAT!

    So, what’s the latest?
Morris is using Pollard vehicle, as his own?
Kansass says there is NO NCAA violation. Kansass also blives there were two fights.
Still there is NO RETRACTION ,from KK.

  • jessie, i would encourage you to research the issue before you post. this story is only a story because a heavy k state leaning radio host in kansas city took the story and ran with it before he knew any of the facts.

the car was tyshawn taylors, he lent it to morris to drive. morris got in a wreck. no alcohol involved, it was a simple fender bender. the reason it was under pollards name is because he sold it to tyshawn at blue book price earlier that month. KU made sure the sale was cleared with compliance and it was legal and thats that.

the only dirt you have on KU here is that Markieff morris is a bad driver lol

  • Actually there was a retraction today from Kevin Keitzman at 2pm when his show first started.

  • Woody,

Your little brothers (jhawak) comment is good, for the general reader.

On Wednesday, all of Kansas was saying that Kansas “Gangster U” had committed a NCAA violation. And then everyone was happy with the LEW ,compliance officer from Kansass- saying everything is OK.
Please. No one is buying it , outside of Kansass.

    Hello, the NCAA is coming.
The pressure apply at Kansas..changes an independent and objective conclusion.

I have YET to see a retraction. NOR have you reference ONE!
And LEW has very low creditbalilty issues.

    I’m just saying.

LOL…bad driver….NO, WE DO NOT THINK SO.

    Note:
Have you seen the video from the police investigation?
Wait until the evidence is released ….

  • Ben,

That surely did not sound like a retraction.
And a number of Kansas folks would agree with JW.
You know KK…he has too much pride.
The NCAA will probably label it as a minor violation.

Have you heard about Doron Lamb’s visit schedule?
Maybe there is a third visit confirmed?

  • please jessie, feel free to point out one ncaa rule Kansas has broken in this accident. It was a fender bender. thats it.

  • He actually said “I have investigated the matter and everything was cleared through the NCAA, so I won’t be taking any calls on this matter today.”

That’s not only a retraction, but it’s also a weak way to avoid the criticism that was going to occur.

More important than some blow hard on a shitty talk radio station is that the NCAA did clear the sale, Tyshawn registered the car 3 weeks after the sale, and Tyshawn’s insurance is what paid for the crash.

What are you hearing in the WEST about Jones’ sudden interest in KANSAS over ARIZONA?
