Syracuse transfer Joe Girard will be a Tiger next season, he announced via Twitter. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound senior guard will choose between LSU and Clemson.
Girard, the Glen Falls (NY) native and four-year veteran of the Orange, doesn’t have a timeline for his commitment, per Joe Tipton of On3.
Last season, Girard averaged 16.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.0 assists for Syracuse. In his total four-year career, Girard’s averages sit at 13.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. He’s also shot 36.6% from 3-point range and over 80% from the line in his career.
Girard has made visits to both LSU and Clemson. Here’s what he said of each school, per On3:
Clemson: “I’ve enjoyed getting to know coach [Brad] Brownell and his staff during this process. They’ve had a lot of success during his time and I’ve loved getting to know more about their program!”
LSU: “Coach [Matt] McMahon and the staff have done a great job gathering guys to fit his culture. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know about their program!”
