Kansas coach Bill Self says he’s disappointed with his players for getting involved in not one, but two altercations this week with members of the Kansas football team.
Sophomore guard Tyshawn Taylor, who starred at St. Anthony for Bob Hurley, admitted on his Facebook page he threw a punch that dislocated his finger. He also posted several crude posts on his Facebook page.
“N-ggers be muggin me…you know I’m mugging back,” Taylor reportedly wrote on his Facebook account. “Keep my name out ya’ mouth for you get smacked in it.
Said Self: “I’m disappointed in any of our guys that were involved regardless of fault,” Self told KUSports.com. “In Tyshawn’s case, I feel he was careless on Facebook, as he has been posting on Facebook different song lyrics almost daily which does not portray him in the light I feel he deserves to be portrayed.”
Taylor will wear a splint for 10 days and will miss the Oct. 16 Midnight Madness festivities.
“They think he’ll have full contact in the three-to-four week range,” Self told the paper.
In the wake of the fights, members of both teams issued the following statement.
“We realize that over the past couple of days we’ve let a disagreement between a few guys grow bigger than it ever should have. We’re embarrassed about that.
“Now we want everyone know that we have met and talked it out. We realize we’re all Jayhawks. We’re proud of what both teams have accomplished.
“We appreciate the support these teams give each other. We’ll be in the stands rooting for each other like we always have.
“We all wear KANSAS on our uniforms, and we’re proud of that. We need to act like it. We’ve met; we’re all on the same page, and we will move forward together. The football team is ready to get back to work, focused on Saturday’s game against Southern Mississippi, and the basketball team will continue to prepare for another great season.”
Basketball – Cole Aldrich, Sherron Collins

HARRIS TO VISIT KENTUCKY
Tobias Harris will visit Kentucky for Big Blue Madness Oct. 16.
“Yes,” Torrel Harris said by text.
The family was planning to cut its list to five or so schools after tonight’s in-home with UConn coach Jim Calhoun.
Looks like Kentucky will make the cut.

I think Hurley needs to have a little talk with Tyshawn Taylor. With all the facebook rants and etc., I am sure Bill Self is going to have a nice little talk with Taylor and whomever else was involved. Adam, get your boy Hurley to make a phone call. LOL!

Self has a lot of dissension on his squad now for allowing the Henry’s to essentially buck his authority . This team is in for a disasterous season . Self has no clue on how to handle 5 star recruits ….he’s in way over his head.
/
RockChalkWoody / September 24, 2009
Those are stupid comments. Nobody bucks Self’s authority and in April we’ll see him holding his second NCAA Championship trophy “over his head.”
/
jhawk4 / September 24, 2009
The henry’s had absolutely nothing to do with this pasta… this is a stupid fight over a girl that was blown way out of proportion by the media. and Self has handled many 5 star recruits his whole career at KU.

Is everyone LAUGHING about what SELF said?
He is dissappointed with the FACT that there were TWO fights.
So TWO is the LIMIT…..for “acceptable tolerance”.
What kind of mind set does Bill have…..he is dissappointed in facebook-songs.
COME ON:
Self is more interested in keeping it SILENT.
Like ALL the other times…..
NOT going to happen.
Right LEW.
Background:——————–
We are having one of the biggest dog and pony shows with THOSE FIVE violations.
Can this be up stagged? YES.
The Kansas BrawlHawks University.
Lets say that Pandoras Box has been opened.
Talk about an university keeping ALL those Kansas fights QUITE and for SO MANY years.
Police did nothing ,for YEARS.
Newspaper failed to properly cover the FIGHTs.
Univ. of Kansas President did NOTHING effective for YEARS.
Kansas AD did nothing effective for YEARS.
Kansas coach did NOTHING effective for YEARS.
What we have is a concept called “acceptable TOLERANCE”.
At Kansas, if you want to FIGHT – it is acceptable.
You will not get into trouble because everyone is use to FIGHTING.
Athletics are reguired to take a Fight class, BOX101.
There is a certain level of understanding.
It is like…ONE is already conditioned into expecting brawls.
From an anonymous source…former player.
““It’s escalated really bad now, but it’s always been there.”
“This is Kansas. This happens every year”.
**I can just imagine the Kansas pitch as a RECRUIT t comes to visit:
The escort says….And here at Jay Towers , YOU should expect to see and be apart of AT LEAST ONE FIGHT. Always have your guard up and make sure you have a buddy with you. “YES, THEY WILL JUMP YOU.”….right coach Selfy
COME ON …section:
Come on LEW.
YOU are better than this.
Do YOU honestly believe that we would forget about last spring…
“last spring, when a fight between members of the two programs began at a campus bar and moved to Jayhawker Towers”…
It appears that LEW, and Selfy efforts for the LAST years have NOT worked.
So, WHAT is next Lew?
MAJOR , MAJOR ACTIONS.
Expect PLAYERS to be kicked off the team….GIVEN…..
And what else….
PS-
Come on Police?
Sorry,no police required ..
.Univ. says it was not serious enough Does not warrant law authorities.
No broken bones…no police needed. (Dislocaton – GRAY area.)
Kansas Jayhawk University has been completely embarrassed and should be ashamed.

Yeah Xavier refused to enroll in summer school and work out in Lawrence with his future teammates ……. Self had to go to Ok. City with his dick in his hand and beg the kid not to de-committ …… I heard he was on both knees and sobbing like a girl .
/
JessieWildcat / September 24, 2009
OK– lets talk about the LACK of law enforcment.
THE POLICE have some level of responsibility.
(Yes, there is an internal investigation into the officiers CONDUCT, lack of.)
Do NOT rely on the Kansas POLICE.
The police like to COVER THINGS up.
From reports…
The MASSIVE FIGHTING took place in the parking lot outside the Burge Union.
Witnesses said about 100 people were gathered in the parking lot.
That SURE is ALOT of people.
Then , the POLICE finally arrive.
The crowd is still there.
The police finish the call by concluding…Officers were unable to identify the individuals who were doing the fighting.
Are you LAUGHING YET!
Even after some comments, the POLICE have no leads.
Taylor announced on his Facebook page and hospital treatment did NOT provide police with any leads.
“…. but the drama between the football and basketball programs was only beginning.”
The POLICE did nothing in regards to the first incident of FIGHTING- assault and battery.
Police were called to Jay Towers later Tuesday night.
Guess what happend: Police did NOTHING. The SECOND time.
Maybe, the POLICE will get lucky and the THIRD time is the charm.
And then around 10 a.m. Wednesday, police scanners lit up again with reports of another fight between players …THIRD CALL in less than 12 hours.
The POLICE finally got the break …the lucky break they were looking for.
“witnesses said players were shouting racial slurs at each other and throwing punches. ”
In closing…WHAT THE HECK is going on at KANSAS University.
You can not count on the police.
Not even if you SPOON FEED them…will they get it right.
The AD has looked the other way for many years as well as the coaches.
Are they to BLAME?
“acceptable tolerance”

AZ,
Did YOU think I would leave YOU Hanging…
Lets talk about the LAST , THIRD, FIGHT…
It allegalley began with…
“What did you say?” and saw him run up a flight of stairs behind Budig Hall.
The witness then reported that one of the basketball players threw the football player down the stairs.
The player toppled down the stairs before being caught by another football player.
THEN, ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE AGAIN…
The witness told the paper that several fights then began immediately.
Yes, the “police” ( and I use that term lightly) arrived.
Guess what happened…..There was a big crowd ;but, police have no witnesses or idea as to who was fighting – AGAIN. Nothing significant.
Sources are saying that …”list of basketball players on the scene included Taylor, Sherron Collins, Marcus and Markieff Morris, Mario Little, Brady Morningstar, Travis Releford, Tyrel Reed, Thomas Robinson and Elijah Johnson.”
IT GETS MUCH BETTER……THERE IS VIDEO.
VIDEO…..

jessie- you are blowing things way out of proportion. you make it sound like KU is like West side story with 2 rival gangs running around. its not.
90% of the basketball and football players get along fine and don’t cause problems. there is a small group of guys that don’t, not very surprising, considering your talking about around 100 people, your bound to have people that just don’t get along. its disgraceful that they got in a fight and embarrassed KU like this, but they’re kids, don’t tell me you never got in a fight when you were that age. everyone has. not saying it was right that they fought, but lets not make this bigger than it is, a fistfight between some kids.
This is simply kids being stupid and immature and letting there emotions getting the best of them. as usual, pasta tries to blame Self and somehow brings Henry into it (thankfully, his name has not been mentioned throughout this whole saga). but the fact of the matter is this is not a big problem as you make it seem. there have always been and will always be people on the football and Bball teams that dont get along. I played high school basketball, and i didnt like everyone that was on the football team, unfortunately the kids at KU handled the situation very poorly and immaturely and are getting reamed by their respective coaches as we speak.
i expect suspensions for the main instigators of the problem once they get it all sorted out, getting kicked off the team for this would be way extreme unless it was a multiple offense from a certain player. i think the lack of police information is because they dont want to say anything until they find out exactly what happened.
lastly, i do not think this will hurt recruiting. if a recruit honestly does not want to come to KU because he might not get along with someone from another athletic team at the school, he is not ready for college. hopefully KU players can act more mature in the future. the thing i was most ashamed of was not the fight, but Tyshawn’s facebook status’s. ever since he got to KU he has given the impression of being a great kid. always very articulate and well mannered in interviews, acted with class on and off the court. but the status updates really shine a different light on Tyshawn,

The HENRY Brothers have NOT taken the required class, BOX101- Essential of Fighting at the Univ. of Kansas.

on a seperate note…
Boot camp was slated to start monday, but started this morning due to what happened this week.
I love it.
*for those of you who dont know, bootcamp is Bill Self’s version of a full team pre season conditioning program, and according to 100% of his players, past and present. its pure hell

Here is the VIDEO…..

ALERT: Univ. of Kansas is discussing a NEWS CONFERENCE.
The parents are very upset about these FIGHTs and ALL the other ones before.
They should of been told about those FIGHTS…..I agree with those which say…I was lied to.”
Even the WEST Coast are astonished by all the Kansas FIGHTING.

(Not a facetious comment)
Just ignore Jessie like the rest of us do. Besides, he/she will be back to calling Adam’s name and to bashing UK very soon lol. Besides, he/she must find a way to ignore the fact that Arizona hired one of Doron Lamb’s former basketball assistants. Which would CRUCIFY anybody else. Not Arizona though. In Jessie’s words Doron is interested because “something special” is happening in UA. Give me a break lol. Remember, just ignore the annoyance. Though he won’t go away, we can always hope AZ simply bans him. Top of da mornin’ to ya!
