Bracketology: Iowa Now a 1 Seed, Kansas Moves to a 2

N

It’s a big day for Iowa and not just because of Monday’s Iowa Caucus.

The Hawkeyes are now a No. 1 seed, along with Oklahoma, North Carolina and Villanova, in Joe Lunardi’s latest Mock NCAA Tournament Bracket.

Kansas is now a 2 seed alongside Xavier, Texas A&M and Virginia.

The 3 seeds feature Maryland, Iowa State, Michigan State and Oregon.

The 4s are Providence, Purdue, West Virginia and Miami.

Kentucky and Louisville both slipped to 5 seeds, with defending champion Duke a 7.

The ACC leads the way with 9 teams in the Big Dance, with the Pac-12 getting 8 and the Big 12 and the Big Ten getting 6 apiece.

LSU and projected No. 1 pick Ben Simmons remain in the field as a 10 seed following Saturday’s 2-point loss to No. 1 Oklahoma and would meet Virginia in the first round.

From the tri-state area, UConn, Seton Hall, Yale, Monmouth, Wagner and Stony Brook are all in the field, with Seton Hall facing a play-in game as an 11 seed.

Syracuse would also be in a play-in game as a 12 seed.
