Good news for Seton Hall fans.
Kyrie Irving’s final official visit will be to Seton Hall, probably the weekend of Oct. 29. The drive will be a short 10-mile trip from St. Patrick High School in Elizabeth, N.J. to the Seton Hall campus in South Orange.
That means Irving’s final five schools are Duke, Kentucky, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech and Seton Hall.
He will visit Duke (Sept. 25), Texas A&M (Oct. 9), Kentucky (Oct. 15) Georgia Tech (Oct. 23) and then Seton Hall.
As first reported here Friday, Indiana, long considered to have a legitimate shot at the talented point guard, is out.
Now UConn is officially out, too.
“It was a tough decision,” said Drederick Irving, Kyrie’s dad. “However, when we were allowed to only choose one [for the fifth official], we chose Seton Hall University because of the familiarity with Coach [Scott] Adubato and Coach [Bobby] Gonzalez. They’re a neighborhood school which is pretty good and an option in case Kyrie decides to stay home.”
Both Seton Hall and UConn came in for home visits last week, and Seton Hall ended up winning the mano-a-mano battle for the fifth spot.
“Connecticut was a great school, a great opportunity but we just felt a little more comfortable with Seton Hall because we’ve known them for an extended period and they’ve been pursuing us for the longest,” Drederick said.
“We would like to extend our gratitude to UConn for their diligence.”
During a UStream video Sunday night, Irving indicated he will announced in November via his Twitter account.

Wow.
That is big news.
U Conn lost out to Seton Hall.
Irrespective of the reasoning provided, it was a big time LOSS by U Conn.
Isn’t U Conn in the Josh Selby sweepstakes?
My money is with www/Cali….
Note:
The WORD is out- all that Big BLUE PR ,from last week,….
official are not buying it.
Sorry Todd, YOU did not have all your DUCKS lined up.
Much more is needed besides words.
(remember what Newton said….he knows John C. for many years. )

Good Lord Jessie, all your junk is incoherent. Take some time to complete your thoughts. Double up on your ritalin.
Uconn losing out to Seton Hall is not that big of a shocker anyway. If your reasoning on how Calipari is such a sleaze is truly justified, Calhoun will be the subject of all your banter. How Calhoun represents everything that is wrong with BBall. Or is there a double standard for certain coaches and certain universities. Certain coaches are free from ridicule whether they cheat or not….. Right?

Irving will end up at Duke playing for Coach K.
JackaLope – Cal is a sleaze ball.

I never said he wasnt a sleaze ball. but many of you on this board seem to be unable to add any new perspective or insight on any article. It all comes back to how Cal is stealing all your recruits. When other coaches make mistakes, thats just what they are… mistakes. You people are unwilling judge coaches with the same consistency. Maybe you should work for the NCAA.

Sounds like YOU do not know how to read between the lines…there needs to be a level of basic understanding for proper comprehension…
can you understand this?………..
am referring to the discussion about Todd Lee and his FIVE STRIKE rule.
Remember the JOKE about Kentucky having a FIVE strikes instead of three strikes and you are OUT.
There was mention about Kentucky having three NCAA violations….but, under additional review….THERE ARE FIVE NCAA violations.
So, it looks like the Ball is back to the NCAA and Kentucky.
Why didn’t Todd Lee EVEN know that Kentucky had FIVE violations?
Sounds like Todd will have to TURN to Mitch for this……
Imagine if the president of the Univ. does NOT even know how many violations it has DONE.
Imagine if the AD of the Univ of Kentucky does NOT even know how many violations it has DONE.
SOMEONE must of known…..WHO ? and WHY wasn’t Todd properly informed.
Or was he?
THIS IS GOING TO GET VERY, VERY INTERESTING ..
Lets see what NEWTON has to say today or tomorrow?
CHANGE is coming……or already has started…
Lack of Compliance Controls…..
Some background on this…………..
“UK men’s basketball team has committed five secondary violations within the last year according to documents shown from an open records request filed by the Kernel in accordance to the Kentucky Open Records Act. …”
