Four-star Class of 2025 guard Jerry Easter II planning visits

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Jerry Easter II, the 4-star Class of 2025 point guard from Toledo (OH) Emmanuel Christian, has amassed nearly 30 Division 1 scholarship offers and is sorting through his recruitment.

UCLA, USC, Michigan State, Ohio State, Louisville and Syracuse are among the schools involved in his recruitment, his father, Jerry Easter Sr., said Monday by phone.

Ranked the No. 9 shooting guard in 2025 in the 247Sports.com Composite, Easter visited UCLA earlier this month when his team played a game in L.A.

“Oh man, they loved him,” his father said. “They welcomed him with open arms. I love Mick Cronin as well, he’s a good guy. They’re definitely in the running for what we’re trying to do with Jerry.”

USC assistant Eric Mobley is also recruiting Easter hard, and the family would like to visit.

“They love him, they said they like big guards, big point guards,” Easter Sr. said. “They said he’d fit what they’re trying to do.

Ohio State, Michigan State, Syracuse, Louisville and Toledo are among those also in high pursuit.

“In the summertime, Ohio State is close to us so that’s the reason why we went down there,” he said of the visit to the Big Ten school. “Michigan State, we just haven’t had a chance to get down there because we’re playing so many games. They want us to come as well.

“Jerry, he’s a student of the game, he likes all those guys. And then Syracuse, they like Jerry, too. We’re trying to go visit Syracuse, but they’re kind of far. We’re trying to figure things out.

“There’s a lot of schools in the mix. We’re just trying to concentrate on getting better.”

He also mentioned Louisville and coach Kenny Payne.

“I talk to him as well, he’s a good guy, can’t leave them out,” Easter Sr. said. “We just haven’t had time to go visit.”

Easter has played in several USA Basketball mini-camps and his father said he will attend the one in Houston during the Final Four.

Easter will play with All-Ohio Red this summer on the Nike EYBL circuit.
