It has largely been a disappointing season for Villanova under first-year coach Kyle Neptune, but the Wildcats got a boost Sunday when Justin Moore made his season debut.
The senior guard played 31 minutes in Villanova’s 70-65 home loss to No. 23 Providence, notching 5 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.
Villanova dropped to 10-11, 4-6 in the Big East.
Moore suffered a tear in his right Achilles tendon in the final minutes of Villanova’s 50-44 victory over Houston in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight. The Wildcats ended up losing to eventual national champion Kansas in the Final Four.

Before the season, he said he hoped to return this season, but wasn’t sure when.
“We’re going to do what’s best for me, that’s what comes first,” he said then. “I’m not taking it too fast. Whenever I’m ready is when I’ll step out there.”
