Syracuse lands Class of 2024 Cardinal Hayes guard Elijah Moore

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Elijah Moore, the 6-foot-3, 4-star shooting guard from Cardinal Hayes High School in The Bronx, committed to Syracuse on Saturday.

Ranked the No. 13 shooting guard in the Class of 2024 by 247Sports.com, he also considered Alabama, Arkansas, Miami and Oklahoma State. Syracuse offered Moore last April.

“Syracuse feels great,” he previously told ZAGSBLOG. “I’ve been there twice and the experience was great. The coaches are really cool guys and they have that level of support and knowledge I can see myself playing with in two years.”

Moore, who is averaging 18.5 points and 4.0 rebounds this season, also visited Syracuse this past Tuesday for the North Carolina game, and was flown to the game on a private jet by a Syracuse booster along with rappers Fabolous and A Boogie wit da Hoodie.

Booster Adam Weitsman told Syracuse.com he flew Moore into the game so they could discuss an NIL offer that he has made to the Syracuse recruit, as well as life in Central New York.

“He was stunned,” Weitsman told the site of Moore in a text message.

Moore is Syracuse’s first commit in 2024. His Hayes teammate, five-star guard Ian Jackson, committed to ACC power North Carolina earlier this month.

“Elijah Moore is the best shooter I have seen in my 20 years at Hayes,” Hayes coach Joe Lods said. “He has unlimited range and has tremendously improved his ball handling and athleticism. He has a high basketball IQ and excellent feel for the game. I look forward to watching him affecting games with his shooting ability for years to come.”
