Tahaad Pettiford, the 6-foot Class of 2024 point guard from Hudson (N.J.) Catholic, took an official visit to Auburn this weekend and other than the Tigers football team getting hammered by Penn State, 41-12, the visit went well.
“BP loves Tahaad and the way he plays and thinks he is a great fit,” Travis Pettiford, Tahaad’s father, said of Auburn coach Bruce Pearl.
Pettiford visited Auburn along with five-star McEachern (Ga.) small forward Ace Bailey and four-star big man Peyton Marshall of Kell (Ga.)
Pettiford is also being recruited by New Jersey native and Tigers assistant Ira Bowman.
“That relationship is really good, they keep in contact a lot,” Tahaad Pettiford told 247Sports.com, which ranks him as the No. 24 prospect in his class. “They’re always looking out for me, making sure me and my family are okay. They see how I’m doing in school, seeing if I’m staying in the gym and staying on the right path. It’s a guard school they, let their guards go, they don’t run a lot sets. l get up the floor and go. I like that type of style.”
Pettiford is also working on visits to Kentucky and UCLA, his father said, but nothing is set yet.
