Spencer Joyner, the 6-foot-4 combo guard from Newark (NJ) Arts High School, has announced his final five schools.
Joyner is down to Boston University, Iona, George Washington, Siena and James Madison. He has an official set for BU Sept. 28.
He broke down his final five for ZAGSBLOG:
BU: “Boston University has been very consistent with being in contact with me and I’ve been building a great relationship with Coach [Joe] Jones and Coach [Curtis] Wilson. I like what they’re doing over there and it’s a great school academically with a good team. I also had a great virtual meeting with them recently with my family and will be visiting September 28th.”
Iona: “Iona has been pretty consistent as well and is a great school. My unofficial visit was great there and I had a good time being there, seeing the campus, and meeting the coaching staff.”
GW: “George Washington also has been pretty consistent and is a great school. My unofficial visit was also great there and I had a good time meeting the coaches.”
Siena: “Siena is also a great school and I like what they’re doing over there.”
James Madison: “James Madison is also a great school and I like what they’re doing over there.”
Wherever he goes, Joyner says, “The skillset I will bring is a strong-built athletic combo guard that can score and play defense. I have a fast-pace game that I play at and I get my teammates involved and am a good rebounder.”
