Keanu Dawes, the 6-foot-9 forward from Houston (TX) Stratford, is down to a final six schools of Oklahoma State, Rice, Utah, Texas A&M, Texas and BYU and has set five officials
Ranked the No. 27 power forward in the Class of 2023 by 247Sports.com, he has official visits set for:
Rice (Aug. 26-28)
Texas A&M (Sept. 15-16)
BYU (Sept. 29-Oct. 1)
Utah (Oct. 13-16)
Oklahoma State (Oct. 21-23)
“I plan to commit soon after I take all my officials,” he said.
He broke down his options for ZAGSBLOG.
Oklahoma State: “Coach Mike [Boynton] and Coach [Terrence] Rencher both seem like great people on and off the floor and that really means something. Their play-style also really fits me.”
Rice– “Coach [Scott] Pera was the first coach to reach out to me so we have built a great relationship over time and they have a real plan for me if I went there.”
Utah: “That’s home for me so it would be pretty cool to go back there and accomplish my goals with hometown support.”
Texas A&M: “I feel like coach Buzz [Williams] will help bring certain things out of me just by the way he coaches and he’s really big on details so we have similar tendencies there.”
BYU: “Coach [Mark] Pope just has great energy around him so I feel like his players love to be there and want to play for him because of that.”
Texas: “They have a great environment and vibes through the whole staff and I feel like those things make people want to really play there!”
