Osun Osunniyi transfers to Iowa State from St. Bonaventure

By CHARLIE PARENT & ADAM ZAGORIA

Former St. Bonaventure center Osun Osunniyi has transferred to Iowa State, he announced Friday on Twitter.

The once unranked prospect made a career for himself with the Bonnies, averaging nearly 3 blocks per game, en-route to two A10 Defensive Player of the Year awards.

Osunniyi’s commitment comes on the same day that former teammate Kyle Lofton announced he will be headed to Florida next season.

“My family and I just felt like it [Iowa State] was the best place for me to take my game to the next level.” Osunniyi told ZAGSBLOG.

Iowa State has now reeled in four players from the Transfer Portal and have two class of 2022 four-star commits in guard Eli King and forward Demarion Watson.
