Auburn adds Morehead State transfer Johni Broome

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Auburn dipped into the transfer portal again on Saturday and added 6-foot-10 Morehead State transfer Johni Broome.

The Plant City, Fla., native averaged 16.8 points and 10.5 rebounds last season and 13.7 points and 9.0 boards the year before.

He will help slot in to replace the losses of Jabari Smith and Walker Kessler.

“It felt like the right place for me to be and a place that I can call home,” Broome told On3. “Bruce Pearl and the coaching staff showed me how valuable I could be, how much they cared about me, and the work they are willing to put in to take me to the next level and expand my game as a whole. Auburn University is a wonderful place to be and I’m ready to get to work.”

Auburn also brings in point guard Tre Donaldson, shooting guard Chance Westry and big man Yohan Traore.
