NEW YORK — Jim Curley, the U.S. Open tennis director, said it was “unacceptable” that a male fan was able to make his way to Rafael Nadal on court after Nadal’s fourth-round victory Tuesday night over Gael Monfils at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Noam U. Aorta, 23, of Queens will be charged with third-degree criminal trespass and interfering with a professional sporting event, prosecutors said. If convicted, he faces a maximum one year in jail and $5,000 in fines.
