LSU loses three commitments in wake of Will Wade firing

By JACOB POLACHECK

It’s been a rough week for LSU on the recruiting trail in the wake of head coach Will Wade‘s firing, with the Tigers losing commitments from three recruits in the last six days.

Devin Ree, the 6-foot-8, 185-pound small forward from Terry (MS), was the first player to de-commit when he announced he was reopening his recruitment on March 13.

Class of 2022 five-Star forward Julian Phillips became the next domino to fall when he de-committed on Friday.

Phillips, the 6-foot-8, 200-pound power forward from Link (MO) Academy, was considering Florida State, Tennessee and USC before ultimately deciding on LSU in October.

Most recently, class of 2023 four-star guard Marvel Allen reopened his recruitment on Saturday, leaving LSU without a commit in 2023.

Allen, the 6-foot-4, 190-pound guard from Calvary Christian (FL) Academy, was previously considering Georgia, Ohio State, Arizona State, Memphis, Maryland, Alabama and Kansas before deciding on LSU in January.

The slew of de-commitments leaves 2022 five-star center Yohan Traore as the lone LSU commitment over the next two seasons.
