Loyola-Chicago wins MVC Tournament Title to Secure Second Straight NCAA Tournament Bid

By HENRY EISENBERG

Loyola-Chicago clinched its third NCAA Tournament appearance since 1985 on Sunday, defeating Drake 64-58 in the Missouri Valley Conference title game.

After turning around the program, head coach Porter Moser left the program this offseason to become the new Oklahoma coach. In his shoes stepped former Rambers assistant Drew Valentine, who has led Loyola-Chicago to a 24-7 record this season.

In Valentine’s first and final MVC tournament, Loyola-Chicago came out on top as the Ramblers are set to enter the Atlantic 10 next season.
